Brac Kelley

DIVISION 1 HOCKEY PLAYER

I play women’s ice hockey.

I got to this point in my life because of the love i have felt for this sport. Nothing else has compared to the feeling of being on the ice.

I look up to my dad the most, he has always been there for me and gives me the greatest advice. My mom has been my biggest support, and has always been there for me. And my brother, I copy everything he does except hockey which i think is humoring. I also try my best to turn out like him. I’m the only one in my whole family that plays hockey.

So far some challenges were within myself. I’ve loved boys hockey and wanted to stay with the boys for as long as I could but i knew that it would have to end. It was a challenge turning to womens hockey, but it was the greatest thing for my career. I have succeeded within my passion for the game. I am thankful to have had this amazing opportunity to increase the world of womens hockey.

I’ve recorded the most points out of all the freshman so far. I’ve received awards during my high school years while also breaking the most goal and point record at my high school as well. I’ve been on all-star teams and recorded 218 points my high school career. I hope to break records here at RIT. But I want to break the goal record and even point record. I would love to make all-stars/all conference team.

I hope to see the sport grow into something just as popular as the mens. I hope eventually they allow hitting because I believe it would attract even more. I hope all womens sports reach the same audience as mens. I would love to go to the PWHL. I think it would be extremely hard but possible. Anything’s possible really. But if not, I hope to find something to be able to still compete competitively.
