SPORTS BROADCASTING

Growing up as both a soccer player and a dancer, I was surrounded by strong, talented girls and women in sports. In my young mind, women’s sports were everywhere—until I turned on the TV. Men’s sports were almost exclusively what was being televised. That sad reality never sat right with me and I always wished to see a change.

My journey in sports has been fueled by creativity and a deep love for the game. My dad, Peter Mancuso, has been a major influence on this passion. He has spent over 30 years dedicated to the sports industry as an Athletic Director, coach, referee, official, umpire, and more. His drive and commitment to the game left a lasting impact on me.

Though I didn’t begin working in the industry until college, the moment I did, I knew this was where I was meant to be. Every opportunity—big or small—has been a stepping stone toward building a career in a field I love. My main contributions include three years as an Associate Producer for RIT Sports Network and a summer graphic design internship with the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Railriders. These opportunities have shaped me into the person and designer I am today.

I’ve been inspired by the many women in sports media, marketing, and design who have broken barriers and paved the way for future generations. Their success reinforces that women belong at every level of sports. From the college to the professional level, there are so many amazing creatives out there that I look up to as inspirations.

Of course, being a woman in this industry has not been without challenges. There have been times when I felt underestimated and had to prove my value in male-dominated spaces. Each of these challenges has only fueled my determination to carve out my place and prove that talent, creativity, and passion matter more than gender.

Looking ahead, I’m excited to continue growing in my career and taking on a new role in the sports industry. The future of women in sports is bright and here to stay!
